GOAT Attachment
GOAT Attachment
The GOAT Attachment is designed to be one of the most versatile rack attachments, replacing the need for multiple standalone machines. Bronze bearings allow smooth rotation, and the bracket’s five pin holes let you pin the tube in at 11 different angles. The GOAT Attachment includes the bracket, a 24" tube with 1" holes, and two hitch pins. Attachments are sold separately. Both the 1" and 5/8" versions have identical frames, with the 5/8" model featuring a different threaded pin. The 1" holes on the tube make it compatible with all 1" attachments, providing many possible movements.

View full detailsThe GOAT ships disassembled all you need to do to assemble it is screw in the threaded pin and add the plastic protection piece with a screwdriver. If you ever change from an offset to an inline hole rack you can remove the pin and change the location from offset to inline or vice versa. If you change from a 5/8" to a 1" rack, we can sell you the 1" threaded pin for $60 so you can modify it to work on the 1" rack.

The GOAT is a great option in a tight space, I use mine with the REP Ares and it is everything I was hoping for
Just got the GOAT and I am mainly using it for my DIY 3x3 upright Lat pull-down machine/Low Row. It’s solid piece of equipment. I’ve used it for bent over dumbbell rows recently, and that felt great. I can’t wait to see what else the GOAT can do. Highly recommended.
I've always loved the idea of levers, but every implementation I've tried has been either dangerous or too much work to incorporate into my workouts. Enter the appropriately named GOAT. These are truly the GOAT of levers. I bought two because they hit the sweet spot of being versatile enough to do a plethora of workouts without being unmanageable. I've done chest presses, shoulder presses, shrugs bicep curls, lateral delt raises, deadlifts, leg extensions standing leg curls, kickbacks, step ups, progressive splits squats, and (for fun) vertical leg pressss. I do this all in a room with only about 42 square feet available. Changing between the workouts in a relatively short amount of time. So yes. It's the GOAT. Five stars. Just buy these things and support this company's incredible American made product. You won't regret it.
The versatility of this is great in gym with limited space. I've used this primarily for standing leg curls, seated leg extensions, standing calf raise (with additional attachments to hold leg rollers for shoulder pads), a chest supported row, seated calf raise, and several others. I have the lat seat and alpha rollers (best rollers in the industry) to perform those exercises. Its too short to perform most traditional level arm movements due to an awkwardly tight arc of motion IMO, but it's size is exactly what allows it perform many of the previously listed exercises well. The construction is solid with laser cutouts in the body to allow the 1/4" plates to fit together prior to welding. I assume this makes assembly easier and more precise, but adds additional strength too. The power coating, packaging, and shipping time were all impressive. I have the 5/8" version and love the fact that a 1" pin can be purchased if I ever upgrade to a 1" rack. As I have an imported rack with metric tubing, I've had to shim the UHMW to allow a more snug fit, but this is likely unnecessary with a US made rack. The multiple holes to lock or support the arm at many angles is a huge feature of this allowing the level of versatility it's capable of. One negative I have that I hope is addressed in future versions is the use of a 5" long 1" diameter bolt for the pin/axle that the bushings ride on. The ride side bushing is sitting on the threads of the bolt and this quickly wears grooves into the bushing, likely significantly reducing it's life. Straydog could easily improve this for minimal cost by either using a design similar to other higher end lever arms with a smooth pin held with axle collors welded to the frame or by using a longer 6.5" bolt (4" smooth section and 2.5" of thread) that has the extra thread length cut off to keep the width of the entire unit the same. Either option would allow the bushings to ride on a smooth shaft avoiding damage. I personally used the later option to fix this issue for about $15. Otherwise it's a great design and build for a good value.
Order a GOAT attachment recently and the delivery was super fast. The GOAT was backordered with no estimated date on the website. To my surprise the order showed up a few days later. Just installed it and tried it out! It's crazy smooth and easy to install on my rack.
